riveting rooms

I'm back and I feel rejuvenated and jet lagged.  It's a strange combination. Apparently, I need international travel to clear out the cobwebs.  It didn't hurt that Paris is one of those places that is truly beautiful.

This week's riveting rooms is the dining room at Cafe Richelieu in the Louvre Museum.  It was one of my favorite experiences.  First, the Cafe is an Angelina outpost, the famous French tea room.  The food was delicious, the desserts to die for and the hot chocolate was one of the most decedent things I've ever sampled. The view wasn't too shabby either…it overlooked the Louvre court yard.

What I loved the most was the room itself.  We sat in front of the enormous arched window.  The entire room was painted in blue tones and finally I understand why people love all blue rooms.  When you have stunning architectural details (like an ornate ceiling, a marble fireplace and tons of natural sunlight) the effect is electric.

I'm in the process of downloading pictures and putting together my thoughts. More details later this week. Happy Monday!
