In June, I featured this attached rowhouse built in 1900 located in Shaw.  It proved to be a popular home because it sold for 46K OVER list price.  I'm sure there were multiple offers (waiting for confirmation from the listing agent.)  Just heard back from the listing agent.  There were five offers!

The home has all the prerequisite amenities:  hardwood floors, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and skylights on the upper level for additional light.  In addition, it has a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom in law suite with a separate entrance in the basement.  The income from the in-law suite (it could potentially rent for $1500-$1700) could offset mortgage costs.  It's also located 4 blocks to the Shaw Metro and it's steps to Bar Boehm, Thai X-ing and Shaw Tavern.

First Friday is a weekly post that features a listing that's been on the market for 7 days or less.  The home is either an excellent deal or it has interesting design elements.
